Classes consist of Open Technique and Choreography classes covering a vast number of Palos (type of dance) with a thorough understanding of the cante (song) and compas (rhythm). Alegria also follows a syllabus system through Alianza Flamenco, giving beginners a solid foundation in all aspects of Flamenco, with an option to be assessed on an international level. Various levels are available for all classes. Dancers from Alegria Flamenco Malta may also benefit from Awards and Scholarships and may have the opportunity to join the Alegria Dance Company.

CARMEN – Flamenco meets Contemporary

For the first time, Moveo and Alegria Dance Company, in collaboration with Teatru Manoel, joined forces to fuse Flamenco and Contemporary Dance to narrate this doomed romance. What better way to portray the distinct characters of the fiery Carmen and the delicate nature of Micaela but through these two contrasting styles of dance?

Carmen was performed on the 3-4-5 February 2017 at Teatru Manoel at 8pm, all to live music and enjoyed 3 full houses.
